Case of issuance of fake lease in Luni Panchayat Samiti exposed, allegations of harassing widow woman despite court order

Jodhpur. A serious case of issuing fake leases has come to light in a Gram Panchayat of Luni Panchayat Samiti. According to the information, a widow woman of the village, whose petition related to the disputed abadi land is pending in the court, has given a clear order on that land that till the final decision is taken, there should be no hindrance in the use of the woman nor should any permanent construction be done. The widow woman was using the said land as per the court order, meanwhile allegations have come to light that a fake lease was issued for this land in greed for money. The matter came to light when the police sought records from the Gram Panchayat to verify the documents presented by the opposing party. No satisfactory answer was given by the Panchayat. It is being told that the lease is shown to have been issued from book number 30, whereas according to the Panchayat, till now the lease is registered only till book number 4. As soon as information about the matter was received, the concerned development officer was informed over telephone, after which he formed an investigation committee and assured to conduct an immediate investigation.
The family of the widowed woman has been in possession of the said land for many years. After the death of Manju Parihar’s husband in the year 2024, the opposition party started putting pressure on the woman with the aim of grabbing the land. She was continuously harassed by the police, due to which the woman took refuge in the court. On October 16, 2024, the court issued a stay order in favor of the woman, a copy of which was submitted to the concerned departments including Panchayat Luni, SDM Office Luni, Registrar Office Luni.
The matter remained quiet for some time, after which the opposing party lodged a complaint of encroachment and government land in the Panchayat, but no such case came to light in the investigation. After this, it is alleged that the opposing party again started pressurizing the woman and sent the police to her home several times. Once the police arrived at night and started confronting the woman about encroachment on the land.
After this, the opposite party filed a case of theft against the widowed woman on the same land where the stay order was imposed, even though that land is in the possession of the woman. A few days later, a case of assault was also registered against the woman and her son. During the investigation, the government official has denied the incident of assault in his statement.
As per the court order, the widowed woman is using and enjoying the said land, but the opposing party is continuously trying to create obstacles. Information has been received that the police has sought official records from the Gram Panchayat to verify the documents presented in the complaint given in the police station.
The situation is expected to become clear soon through a joint investigation by the Panchayat Administration, Police and Development Officer on the entire episode.
