Chhattisgarh: 'Kamar' woman gets keys of permanent house from PM Modi, family rejoices with joy

Dhamtari, November 4 (). It became the most memorable day in the life of Sonia Bai, a woman from the Kamar tribe in a small village in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. He received the keys of a new permanent house from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As soon as the Prime Minister handed over the keys, tears of joy appeared in Sonia Bai’s eyes. The smile on his face was telling that now his dream has come true.

Sonia Bai belongs to the ‘Kamar’ tribe, who was living in a house made of mud and thatch for a long time. During the rainy season, the roof of the house used to leak, the walls would get wet, and there was a fear of rain every year, but now the situation has changed. Sonia Bai and her family are feeling proud after getting the keys of the pucca house from the hands of Prime Minister Modi.

Expressing his happiness, he told , “Earlier we used to live in mud houses, rain water used to drip from the roof during the rainy season. Now we feel very proud and happy to get the keys from the hands of the Prime Minister. Now we will get a safe and respectable life.”

Sonia Bai’s husband Dhullu Kamar also shared his sentiments and said, “Earlier our house was a hut, there was a lot of trouble in the rains. Now the permanent house given by the Prime Minister is like a boon for us. I thank Prime Minister Modi wholeheartedly for this.”

In fact, under the Central Government’s ambitious ‘PM Janman Yojana’, tribal communities have to be brought into the mainstream. Under this, permanent houses are being provided to those sections who till now were living in kutcha houses.

In a grand program organized in the capital Raipur on the occasion of the silver jubilee celebrations of the establishment of Chhattisgarh state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed 3 lakh 51 thousand beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) of the state. In the same ceremony, keys of houses were also handed over to many beneficiaries.
