Jaipur . Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, while reviewing the progress of the projects being run in the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission at the Government Secretariat on Thursday, directed the officials that all the works of the mission should be completed within the stipulated time and the required pace should be brought in the physical and financial progress. He said that the achievements of the state should be effectively established at the national level by ensuring quality, transparency and timeliness in the implementation of the schemes.
The Chief Secretary directed to ensure early financial closure of the physically completed schemes and to update their progress timely on the portal. He stressed on completing the remaining works of every household water certification, water service assessment, preparation of Sujalam Bharat ID and district improvement schemes within the stipulated time.
In the meeting, a detailed review of the schemes approved under the mission, the status of work orders issued, pending tenders, financial expenditure and progress of the schemes was reviewed. The Chief Secretary directed that the work should be expedited by removing the obstacles in the schemes where progress is affected due to various reasons.
He directed to take necessary action for prompt disposal of pending cases at the National Jal Jeevan Mission level. Specifically directed to ensure prompt resolution of entry of schemes on IMIS portal, updating of work orders, financial adjustment, onboarding of schemes on SNA-Sparsh module and other technical issues.
While reviewing the progress of DPR review, cost rationalization and technical testing of projects costing more than Rs 100 crore, the Chief Secretary directed that testing of all cases should be completed soon and necessary proposals should be sent to the National Jal Jeevan Mission through the Apex Committee.
He directed to soon finalize the comprehensive policy for operation and maintenance of rural drinking water schemes. In this regard, instructions were also given to take forward the revised policy by establishing necessary coordination with the Panchayati Raj Department and other concerned departments and to organize the meetings of the State and Apex Committee soon.
In the meeting, the progress of drinking water schemes operated in tribal areas and PVTG populated areas was also reviewed. The Chief Secretary directed to quickly resolve the pending cases related to these areas and extend the benefits of the schemes to the eligible families.
He directed for regular review of the mission at the district level, water quality testing at the village level, water certification for every household, effective operation of schemes and strengthening community participation. Also asked to ensure timely achievement of all the goals of the mission by increasing coordination between the concerned departments.
In the meeting, a detailed review of the approvals of schemes, financial progress, expenditure, DPR review, pending issues at the central level, operation and maintenance policy of rural water supply, inter-departmental coordination, financial requirements and upcoming action plan under Jal Jeevan Mission was reviewed.
On this occasion, Principal Government Secretary of Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Department Hemant Kumar Gera, Mission Director of Jal Jeevan Mission and ex-officio Government Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department Rajan Vishal and senior officials of the concerned departments were present.
