New Delhi . Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, there was a heated debate in the Rajya Sabha regarding LPG supply and prices in the country. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge drew the government’s attention to the issue and said that the current situation is affecting the middle class, restaurants, hostels and commercial users.
Kharge said that due to the situation in West Asia, LPG availability and price stability have become serious issues. He claimed that the government had said in the Lok Sabha that there is no shortage of LPG, but the ground reality appears to be different. On this, Union Minister J.P. Responding, Nadda accused the opposition of doing politics. Nadda said that a Congress leader has been caught collecting cylinders and such people are trying to provoke the peace-loving people of the country. He said that it is unfortunate that even in difficult times, the opposition, especially the Congress, does not desist from doing politics.
Nadda also clarified that the current crisis is not because of India. Also, citing the rules of Rajya Sabha proceedings, he said that during Zero Hour, any member has to finish his speech within three minutes and this rule applies equally to everyone.
Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia, this debate in Parliament regarding LPG supply and prices has further intensified the political conflict between the government and the opposition.
