At present, there is no possibility of getting relief from the harsh winter in Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for both eastern and western parts of the state. According to meteorologists, the cold wave is likely to continue in the state for the next 48 hours.
According to the report of the Meteorological Department, due to the cold winds coming from North India, the minimum temperature is being recorded below normal in most of the districts of Rajasthan. Especially in the border districts of Western Rajasthan and the plains of Eastern Rajasthan, the biting cold during night and morning is troubling the people. Frost freezing and dense fog conditions are also occurring at many places.
Districts of eastern Rajasthan like Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Karauli and Jaipur are witnessing light fog along with freezing cold in the morning. At the same time, the effect of cold wave remains more in the districts of Western Rajasthan like Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Jaisalmer. The minimum temperature here is being recorded between 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, due to which life is being affected.
Meteorologists say that the north-west cold winds have not weakened at present, hence there is little hope of relief from the cold for the next two days. Sunshine during the day may provide some relief in some areas, but the effect of cold will remain in the morning and night.
Due to the cold wave, the concern of the common people as well as the farmers has increased. There is a danger of frost on the crops standing in the fields. Agricultural experts have advised farmers to adopt necessary measures to protect crops from frost, such as light irrigation and fumigation of fields.
The Meteorological Department has advised the elderly, children and sick people to take special precautions under the yellow alert. People have been appealed to go out wearing warm clothes in the morning and evening and avoid unnecessary exposure to cold air.
