Bihar Police is now conducting a public hearing to seek public help. People are coming to this public hearing and registering their complaints. In this connection, the Superintendent of Police (SP) conducted a public hearing in Dumrao of Buxar district on Sunday. When the SP was listening to the complaints of the people, the atmosphere became emotional after hearing the plight of a cancer patient. Issues ranging from land dispute to women’s safety and cyber crime dominated the hearing and the SP ordered immediate action.
Daughter-in-law accused of obstructing sale of land
The most discussed in the public hearing was the case of Sunaina Devi, an elderly woman suffering from cancer. An elderly woman suffering from cancer cried and alleged that her daughter-in-law was stopping her from getting treatment. She is obstructing him from selling his ancestral land for his treatment.
On the other hand, the daughter-in-law accused her in-laws of discrimination and said that the younger son was being given more preference. Considering the seriousness of the case, the SP ordered the SHO of Dumrao to conduct a fair investigation and ensure justice.
Order for police patrolling near schools and colleges
The people of Dumrao demanded action against the problems being faced near the girls’ school and college. SP directed female SI Priyanka Kumari to patrol along with female constable and assured to install CCTV cameras near Sumitra College. Cybercrime awareness campaigns were suggested and welcomed. Following complaints of drug addicts near Jangalnath Shiv Temple and Rajdiha village, the SP ordered increased patrolling and intervention at the community level.
Most of the complaints in SP’s Janata Darbar were related to land disputes, including encroachment on government/private land and illegal construction. SP assured investigation and timely action.
