Jodhpur. Jodhpur Railway Station will no longer be just a hub for passenger movement, but is going to become a new symbol of modern technology and impenetrable security. Under the ongoing mega redevelopment at a cost of Rs 474 crore, the station is being equipped with world-class facilities while the security system is also being given a digital and hi-tech look. To keep an eye on every activity from the station premises to the yard, a security net of about four hundred state-of-the-art CCTV cameras will be laid, which will be monitored 24 hours from the state-of-the-art control room. Under this, state-of-the-art high-resolution CCTV cameras will be installed in the station and yard areas through which every activity will be closely monitored round the clock. Divisional Railway Manager of Jodhpur Division, Anurag Tripathi said that special priority has been given to security arrangements in the redevelopment project. An elaborate central CCTV monitoring room equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will be created for effective monitoring and control of the cameras. From this control room, the entire station premises, platforms and yard area will be jointly monitored 24 hours a day.
He said that CCTV cameras will be installed in the main station building, second entrance, air concourse, foot over bridge, lift, escalator, multi-level car parking, booking office, waiting room, parcel office and all the platforms.
He said that apart from this, major routes with passenger movement and railway yard areas will also be included in the surveillance scope, so that immediate action can be taken on any suspicious activity or security related incident.
There will be continuous intensive monitoring of CCTV footage at the station by the Railway Protection Force. Through modern surveillance system, security arrangements in the station premises will be more effective and will help in curbing crime and anti-social activities. Along with this, this system will also play an important role in ensuring quick response in emergency situations.
Jodhpur will be included among the major railway stations of the country in terms of security.
Under the mega redevelopment project, Jodhpur railway station is being developed in line with modern architecture and passenger amenities. New buildings, spacious air concourse, state-of-the-art waiting rooms, lifts and escalators, multi-level car parking and better passenger amenities are being developed at the station. According to the Divisional Railway Manager, after the completion of the project, Jodhpur station will be included among the major railway stations of the country in terms of modernity, convenience and security. Digital security at Jodhpur railway station will be monitored 24 hours with four hundred CCTV cameras.
Coverage of cameras will extend to air concourse, FOB, platform and yard area.
RPF will conduct intensive surveillance 24 hours a day from the state-of-the-art control room.
