Mumbai, July 23 (). Divija Fadnavis, daughter of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has reacted to the ongoing protests across the country regarding NEET and education reforms. Through his Instagram story, he appealed to people to support the peaceful protest, but not to support any political party or its ideology without thinking.
Divija wrote in her Instagram story that she was asked several times to give her opinion on these demonstrations. In such a situation, he said, “Peaceful protests are the right of citizens in a democracy, but both violence by protesters on police and violence by police on protesters should not be allowed.”
He wrote that people can support the demand for education reforms, but they should not blindly support the political party or ideology under whose leadership the movement is being run. He said that before supporting any movement, it is important to understand its real objective.
Divija Fadnavis also spoke on the role of opposition in democracy. He said that the aim of a strong opposition should be to work in the interest of the country. The opposition should help the government take better decisions and not just oppose the ruling party by defaming it.
He also advised people to be careful about the trends going on on social media. He wrote that do not be a part of any movement just because it is trending on social media. Take decisions thoughtfully without being influenced by any ideology.
Divija said that as long as the movement is limited to issues related to students’ interest, education reforms, NEET, paper leak and NTA, it is justified. But as the movement turns to religion or topics outside these issues, its intentions change. In such a situation, people should be cautious.
