Sirsa. Due to the scorching heat and continuously falling groundwater level, the drinking water crisis is deepening in many villages of the area. The situation has become such that people have to survive by bringing water from the neighboring state of Rajasthan for their daily needs. Most of the water bodies in the villages have dried up. The situation is worse in rural areas. The shortage of drinking water is increasing day by day. The government is not paying any attention to water. BJP government has failed on every front. Haryana MP, former Union Minister, All India Congress Committee General Secretary and Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Kumari Selja said this while talking to journalists after distributing water tankers to 18 villages and electric scooters to 4 disabled people from the MP Fund Fund at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium on Sunday. MP Kumari Selja said that there is an outcry regarding water in Sirsa district. People are going to the border areas of Rajasthan and bringing water through tractor-trolleys, water tankers and other means. Due to this, people have to bear additional financial burden with time. Women and children are facing the most problems as they have to travel many kilometers to fetch water. The situation has become more serious due to insufficient rainfall and excessive exploitation of groundwater. The availability of potable water is extremely limited in many villages, due to which people are becoming increasingly worried. BJP government is not serious about drinking water shortage. The MP said that the situation in the affected areas of Sirsa district is being continuously monitored. Efforts are being made to provide water through tankers wherever required. The MP asked the officials to provide water to the people, where there are more problems, water should be supplied through tankers.
