ED's mega-action: From return of Rs 15 thousand crores to embezzlement of Rs 22 crores, government bulldozers on the empire of robbers

Story No. 1: ‘Illusion’ of Lodha Developers – Land seized from Panvel to Shahpur

The shine of Rajendra Narpatmal Lodha, who made crores of rupees sitting in the luxurious offices of Mumbai, has now dimmed behind the bars. In a major strike on Monday, the ED temporarily seized immovable assets worth Rs 271.48 crore of Lodha and his associates. Layers of conspiracy: Investigation revealed that Rajendra Lodha, keeping the company’s ‘Board of Directors’ in the dark, sold the lands at throwaway prices to his close relatives and fake companies (Proxy Entities). Not only this, false documents (MoUs) were made for purchasing expensive land and the increased amount was siphoned off in the form of cash.
Account till now: Earlier in November 2025, assets worth Rs 88 crore were frozen. Till now, total assets worth Rs 359.48 crore are in the grip of the government. Rajendra Lodha is currently enjoying the consequences of his actions in ‘judicial custody’.
Story No. 2: A breach in the government treasury – the bloody game of cashier Santosh’s ‘Golden Rekha’
The game played by Santosh Kumar, an ordinary clerk cum cashier in the Drinking Water-Sanitation Department of Ranchi, dried up the water of the ‘Swarnarekha’ division of the department. ED has filed a charge sheet in the court against Santosh, his wife Lalita and a shell company.
Raw log of crime: Santosh took advantage of his position and made illegal withdrawal of Rs 22.86 crore from the government treasury. To convert this black money into white, he bought land in his sister’s name and booked an ‘Innova Crysta’ car for his wife.
Display of wealth: Jewelery worth Rs 1.78 crore, 25 mutual fund schemes and FDs worth crores have been detected in the raid. Even the investigating officer was stunned after seeing Rs 55 lakh cash from the clerk’s cupboard.
Story No. 3: PACL’s mega scam – Supreme attack on ‘black money’ worth Rs 48,000 crore
The pot of sin of Nirmal Singh Bhangu (late), who embezzled the hard-earned money of lakhs of poor and middle class investors of the country, has now burst. ED has got historic success in this case. The Special Court has ordered the Justice Lodha Committee to return 455 properties worth Rs 15,582 crore, so that investors can get their money back.
Empire of fraud: The Bhangu family had spread an illegal investment network of Rs 68,000 crore across India. Investors were given fake allotment letters of land, whereas in reality there was no land.
Family in the grip: Bhangu’s son-in-law Harsatinder Pal Singh has been arrested, while non-bailable warrants have been issued against the daughter and wife. There are preparations to declare daughter Sukhwinder and son-in-law Gurpratap as ‘fugitive economic offenders’. So far this year, ED has raised hopes of investors by seizing properties worth Rs 26,324 crore.
