Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani adjourned the fifth session of the Sixteenth Rajasthan Assembly sine die on Tuesday, March 10 at 06:06 pm. 24 meetings in the 5th session. Speaker Devnani said that during this session, a total of 24 meetings of the House were held and detailed discussions and legislative work were done on various subjects in the House for about 184 hours till the end of the proceedings.

Extensive discussion on Governor’s address:
Devnani said that during the session there was extensive discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address. On this topic, Bharatiya Janata Party participated in the discussion for 13 hours 14 minutes, Indian National Congress for 10 hours 52 minutes and other parties took part in the discussion for 1 hour 37 minutes. Similarly, in the general debate on Income-Expenditure Estimates for the year 2026-27, Bharatiya Janata Party participated for 9 hours 42 minutes, Congress for 8 hours 19 minutes and other parties participated in the discussion for 1 hour 21 minutes. In the discussion on the demands for grants, the Bharatiya Janata Party expressed its views for 36 hours 56 minutes, the Congress for 21 hours 26 minutes and the MLAs of other parties expressed their views for 4 hours 25 minutes.
8919 questions found in the fifth session:
Devnani said that in this session the Assembly received a total of 8919 questions from the MLAs, which included 4311 starred, 4603 unstarred and 5 questions related to short information. Of these, 440 starred questions were listed, out of which 232 questions were asked orally and answered. Similarly, 451 unstarred questions were also listed.
Answers to 97 percent questions received:
In the last four sessions of the 16th Assembly, out of 22735 questions, answers to 22074 questions have been received from the state government. Devnani said that Rajasthan Assembly has received answers to about 97 percent of the questions from the state government. He said that this is the result of continuous review done by him in Rajasthan Assembly. This is historic for Rajasthan Assembly.
371 adjournment motions and 339 special mention notices:
Devnani said that under Rule of Procedure 50, notices of a total of 371 adjournment motions were received, out of which 84 motions were given an opportunity to speak in the House and 77 members expressed their views. Under Rule 295, 339 special mention notices were received, out of which 309 were read or considered read in the House. A total of 850 notices were received under calling attention motions, out of which 33 motions were listed in the agenda of the House.
1107 slips received from MLAs:
Devnani said that in the fifth session of the 16th Assembly, 1107 slips were presented by the MLAs, out of which 84 slips were selected by the committee and 71 members presented their views before the House.
10 bills passed in the 5th session:
Devnani said that under legislative work, a total of 10 bills were presented in this session and passed by the House. A total of 171 amendment proposals were received on these bills, out of which 17 amendments were declared inadmissible and 154 amendments were accepted.
Four days discussion on income expenditure estimates:
Speaker Devnani said that in the session, there was a general discussion for four days on the income-expenditure estimate for the year 2026-27, in which 84 MLAs participated. Out of 64 demands for grants related to departments, 8 days were set aside for discussion on 16 grants. Information of 3935 cut motions on demands for grants was received, out of which 3599 motions were presented in the House.
226 petitions received:
Devnani said that 226 petitions were received from MLAs, out of which 52 were presented in the House. A total of 37 reports of various committees were also presented in the House.
Devnani expressed gratitude to the MLAs for their cooperation:
At the conclusion of the session, Speaker Devnani expressed his gratitude to all the MLAs for their cooperation in the smooth functioning of the House. He also expressed special thanks to all the members including the members of the Chairman’s Table, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, Government Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg, Opposition Chief Whip Rafiq Khan.

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani appreciated the cooperation provided by the officials of the Assembly Secretariat in their session and the security arrangements provided during the session by the officers and employees of the Police Department and the departmental representatives of the state government.
