Kota/Jaipur. Former minister Bharat Singh Kundanpur, who was a symbol of honesty and public service in Rajasthan politics, died late Monday night at SMS Hospital in Jaipur. They were unwell for a long time. Earlier Kota was admitted to the Medical College, but after being serious, he was referred to Jaipur, where he breathed his last during treatment. His last rites will be performed on Tuesday 7 October at Kundanpur, Kota.
Born on 15 August 1950, Bharat Singh Kundanpur started politics with the post of Ward Panch and Sarpanch. Later he reached MLA, MP, Pradhan and Minister. While living in important ministries like rural development, panchayati Raj and public construction, he set an example of purity and transparency in politics. In 2007, he was awarded the Best MLA Award. During the 2018-23 MLA tenure, he announced not to contest the next election and established a new tradition in politics. He always raised open voice against corruption and injustice, whether in the party or in the government.
Hadauti and Rajasthan’s politics have suffered a major setback due to his death. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar expressed deep condolences. He said that the land of Hadoti lost a true public servant today, who will be alive in the hearts of the people, not from the post but with his actions.
Bharat Singh Kundanpur has left behind the unique heritage of simplicity, transparent politics and public service.

The doctors had told the improvement in his health, but today such news is going to disturb me. Bharat Singh Kundanpur was an example of impunity and honesty in politics and public service. He was a strong leader of Hadoti region. My relationship with his family was from his father’s time when I became a Lok Sabha MP with him. Bharat Singh Kundanpur was also a minister with me. I pray to God to peace to Bharat Singh ji’s soul and give courage to his family.
