There is going to be a big change in the train ticket booking system from March 1. If you are using the old app to book general or platform tickets from your mobile phone, now you will have to adopt the new method. Indian Railways is making the ticketing process smarter. Lakhs of passengers use digital platforms to book general tickets every day. This will be a big change for them. Railways will eliminate the problem of using multiple apps and will provide all services on a single platform. Therefore, it is very important to understand the new app thoroughly to avoid any hassles during your trip. Know how Railways’ new app will work.

Ticket booking will now be done through RailOne

The old UTS app will be shut down across the country from March 1, and RailOne will be the preferred method. This app will not be only for general and platform ticket booking, but it has been designed as an all-in-one railway platform. Services like general ticket, reservation and train status will be available at one place. This means that there will be less need to visit IRCTC or other platforms separately. All ticket related work can be done from a single app. This will save users time and make the booking process much easier than before.

Discount on digital payment
Passengers booking general tickets using digital payment through RailOne app will get a discount of up to 3%. This offer will be valid till July 14, 2026 and will directly benefit the daily commuters. Many payment options will be available, which include UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking and R Wallet. If you already have R Wallet balance, it can also be used in the new app. Railways wants to promote digital transactions, that is why cashless booking is being promoted.
