Government took concrete steps to solve waterlogging in Hodal area: Shruti Chaudhary

Chandigarh. Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources of Haryana. Shruti Chaudhary said that concrete steps have been taken by the state government to solve the problem of waterlogging in some villages of Hodal constituency.

Shruti Chaudhary was answering a question asked by MLA Shri Jagmohan Anand during the budget session of Haryana Assembly today. The Minister clarified that it is not true that agricultural land is becoming barren on a large scale in the area. Only about 350 acres of land in Garhi Patti and Khachchi Kheda villages has been found affected by waterlogging. He informed that a special project has been approved for drainage of flood water from fields in the affected area. Under this project, along with laying the pipeline, 5 sump wells will be installed, which will effectively solve the problem of waterlogging. This project has been approved on 31 December 2025, the total cost of which has been fixed at ₹1.94 crore. The work is targeted to be completed by June 30, 2026.
He said that the aim of the government is to provide relief to the farmers and make their agricultural land fertile again, so that they can do farming without any hindrance.
