Governor gives green signal to 'Cancer Free Women Bharat Yatra' on Mother's Day, gives message of women's health awareness

Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel flagged off the “Cancer Free Women Bharat Yatra – Anandi Maa Ek Jeevan Bachao Abhiyan” from Jan Bhawan on Sunday, on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Through this campaign organized by Stree Welfare Foundation, the message of women’s health, cancer awareness and the resolve for a healthy India was conveyed to the common people. The rally started from Jan Bhawan portico and concluded at Sarojini Naidu Marg intersection via Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Atal Chowk, Park Road, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Marg, Civil Square and Bhanumati Road. More than 130 people participated in the campaign and gave the message of “Healthy Mother – Safe Future”. On this occasion, Governor Anandiben Patel praised the campaign and said that women’s health is the basis of strength not only of the family but of the entire society. He said that prevention of serious diseases like cancer is possible through timely screening and awareness.
The Governor met the organization’s delegation and praised the work being done in the interest of society and inspired them to take this campaign forward on a larger scale in the future. He said that such awareness campaigns become a medium to bring new consciousness and positive change in the society.
Women, youth and social workers participated enthusiastically in the program and pledged to spread awareness about cancer. During this, the people present reiterated the pledge of “Every mother should be safe, every sister should be aware, every daughter should be healthy and strong”. This campaign is not just a rally, but is being seen as an important initiative towards health awareness, social sensitivity and women empowerment.
