Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Rajasthan has moved beyond traditional farming and has become a land of golden opportunities for agritech and food processing. Due to diversity in agricultural produce, there is immense potential for investment in processing industry, cold chain, spice park and agro-based industries in Rajasthan. In this direction, the state government is working towards making the state a global center of agro-based industries and value added products. The Chief Minister was addressing the Investors Meet organized under the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet-2026 in Hyderabad on Friday. Calling for ‘Padharo Mharo Des’, he invited investors, agri-tech startups and experts to invest in Rajasthan. He said that Gram-2026 is a platform of big opportunities for investors and through this, investors can become participants in the development journey of the state by investing in Rajasthan. The state government is ready to work hand in hand with the investors.
Hyderabad’s ‘Lab to Land’ model inspiring for Rajasthan
He said that Hyderabad has today become the major IT and Agri innovation hub of the country. The ecosystem of agri startups, drone technology, precision farming and food processing developing here is giving a new direction to the agricultural future of the country. He said that Hyderabad’s “Lab to Land” model is inspiring for Rajasthan and the state government wants to implement it more vigorously.
The Chief Minister said that the entrepreneurs of Rajasthan settled in Hyderabad have made an important contribution in enriching the economy and culture of this place. Wherever the Marwari community goes, it creates a distinct identity with its hard work, discretion and social concerns. Overseas Rajasthanis are still connected with their religious and cultural ties.
He said that with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government is going to organize Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet-Gram 2026 in Jaipur from 23 to 25 May. This AgriTech meet will bring together farmers, academicians, agricultural companies and policy makers on one platform. There will be discussions by farmers and experts on developing agricultural and food processing activities in new ways.
Water-energy is the basis of farmer’s progress, government is working with the roadmap
The Chief Minister said that availability of water and energy is the main basis of farmer’s progress. In this direction, our government made a roadmap for electricity and water in the state. Under this, drinking water and irrigation system is being strengthened through Ramjal Setu Link Project, Yamuna Water Agreement, strengthening of Indira Gandhi Canal and Ganganahar, expansion of Dewas Project.
He said that the state government has set the goal of making Rajasthan self-reliant in the energy sector. Under the resolution to provide daytime electricity to the farmers by the year 2027, till now electricity is being supplied in 24 districts during the day. The government is committed to providing uninterrupted power to farmers, industries and general consumers. He said that the state government is working towards making farmers food providers as well as energy providers. In this sequence, more than 65 thousand solar pump plants have been installed and a grant of more than Rs 1 thousand crore has been given, due to which the electricity cost of farmers has reduced and agricultural production has increased.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, in addition to the Rs. 6,000 given by the Central Government, the State Government has increased the assistance by Rs. 3,000 to provide a total assistance of Rs. 9,000 to the farmers. Also, farmers are being empowered through schemes like MSP, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. He said that our government is providing financial security to farmers and cattle rearers through Gopalak Card Scheme and Mukhyamantri Mangla Animal Insurance Scheme for cattle rearers.
The investment journey of the state will move forward from Gram-2026.
He said that timely identification of opportunities and strong willpower writes a new story of development. To promote investment in the state, we organized the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. Through this, investment worth Rs 9 thousand 391 crore has so far reached the ground in the agriculture sector. Taking this investment journey forward, the state government is working towards making Rajasthan the leading agritech and investment center of the country by connecting farmers, livestock farmers and entrepreneurs with new technology and modern facilities through Gram 2026.
The Chief Minister said that Rajasthan is the leading state of the country in the field of tourism. Rajasthan is a state where desert, lakes, sanctuaries, bird centuries, historical forts, grand palaces and mansions of Shekhawati can be seen together. This is the reason why most tourists from India and abroad are attracted towards Rajasthan. The state government is providing all possible support and favorable environment to the investors. He said that there are immense opportunities for investment in many sectors including agriculture, industry, tourism, food processing, solar energy and service sector.
Various proposals worth more than Rs 200 crore for the development of food parks, seed processing, food processing at various places in Rajasthan in the Investors Meet.
