Patna, December 21 (). Ishan Kishan has been selected in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2026. Ishaan’s grandparents are very happy with his selection. The family hopes that the 27-year-old player will help the country win the World Cup title.
Ishan Kishan has not been able to make a place in the Indian team since November 2023. Meanwhile, he played all three formats at the domestic level, in which he performed well. Recently, he won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Jharkhand as captain. Ishaan had played an innings of 101 runs in the final match.
Ishan Kishan’s grandfather Shatrughan Prasad told , “It is a matter of great happiness not just for me, but for the whole of Bihar and the whole of India. A good player was out of the team, but now he is back. It will be good for the team. We have high expectations from him.”
On the selection of Ishan Kishan in the T20 World Cup, grandmother Savitri Devi said, “This should have happened earlier. We were already expecting it. We are very happy with Ishan’s selection. We thank the selectors for this. Today we are very happy. We thank the entire selection committee and all the selectors for this. You have recognized our son’s talent. Ishan will help India win the trophy.”
A fan said, “We have been waiting for a long time when he will be selected in the team. Finally, we will see him playing for India. It will be very exciting. This time the World Cup will come to Patna. We have been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
The command of the Indian team selected for the World Cup is in the hands of Suryakumar Yadav. Apart from him, Tilak Verma, Varun Chakraborty, Shivam Dubey, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Abhishek Sharma, Axar Patel (vice-captain), Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah have been given a chance in this team.
