Haryana: Big action by Rewari Police, main accused of Mohan murder case caught after encounter

Rewari. Rewari Police of Haryana has arrested the main accused in Mohan murder case after an encounter. Rewari Police succeeded in arresting notorious history-sheeter Sonu in a joint operation with Dharuhera CIA and Haryana STF. Adopting a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ against criminals, Rewari Police has conducted this second major encounter within two days. According to the information, the police team was chasing notorious criminal Jai Bhagwan alias Sonu, resident of Sonipat. Seeing himself surrounded near village Kharkhara located on Delhi-Jaipur Highway, the miscreant started firing indiscriminately at the police. In retaliation, the police also opened fire, in which Sonu, a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 20,000, was hit by two bullets. However, Dharuhera CIA incharge Yogesh and STF sub-inspector Vivek also had a narrow escape during the encounter. Both officers were wearing bullet proof jackets, which saved their lives. The injured criminal was immediately admitted to the Trauma Center in Rewari. DSP Surendra Sheoran said that the arrested accused Sonu is originally from Sonipat and is a notorious history-sheeter. The black list of his crimes is quite long. There are more than 22 criminal cases registered against Sonu, including more than half a dozen murder cases. On December 23, Sonu was also involved in the case of murder of fertilizer and seed seller Mohan by entering his shop in Bahala village of Kosli.
Police investigation revealed that the conspiracy to murder Mohan was hatched by Hisar resident Jaiprakash. It was Jaiprakash who got Mohan killed by giving betel nut to Jai Bhagwan alias Sonu. Police has already arrested Jaiprakash.
Rewari SP Hemendra Meena clearly said that Rewari Police is working on the government’s policy of ‘zero tolerance’ on crime. No matter how clever the criminal is, he will not be able to escape from the police and will soon be behind the bars.
