On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna late Rajiv Gandhi, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narendra Singh paid emotional tribute by garlanding his portrait at the State Congress office in Chandigarh. On this occasion, Rao Narendra Singh said that the relevance of the modern, democratic, scientific thinking and brotherhood-filled India that Rajiv Gandhiji had dreamed of has increased today more than ever.
He said that the present BJP government is trying to weaken the vision that Rajiv Gandhiji gave to the country of strengthening information technology, youth participation, Panchayati Raj system and transparent governance. He said that due to the anti-people policies of BJP, today disharmony, unemployment and question marks on democratic institutions are being raised in the society. At such a time, Rajiv Gandhi’s thoughts inspire us to keep the country united, protect constitutional values and provide opportunities to the youth.
Rajiv Gandhiji strongly believed that India’s real strength lay in its diversity, democracy and youthful energy. The State Congress President said that the Congress Party is continuously struggling to protect the values of social justice, brotherhood, development and democratic values, following the thoughts and principles of Rajiv Gandhiji.
