Jerusalem, 21 September (). Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reprimanded international leaders who have recognized Palestine as an independent and sovereign nation. PM Netanyahu termed it as ‘rewarding terrorism’.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said in his statement, “I have a clear message for all the leaders who are recognizing Palestine, especially after the terrible massacre of October 7. You are giving a huge reward to terror.”
This statement came at a time when countries like Australia, Canada and United Kingdom have formally recognized Palestine as an independent nation.
At the same time, Israeli Army (IDF) spokesperson Brigadier General EFI Dephrin said in a video statement that now the army has extended its action to and inside Gaza City. He said, “Our operation is now focused on the main stronghold of Hamas. Our forces are fighting terrorists above the ground and in tunnels.”
Dephrin said that so far 5.5 lakh people have reached the southern part of Gaza in safe areas, as Israel has kept relief corridors open for citizens. He said, IDF is constantly strengthening human areas and motivating people to get out of fighting areas. “
He reported that thousands of tents and relief materials are available at the Karem Shalom Border Crossing, which is to be distributed to the United Nations and International Institutions. In the last few weeks, more than 24,000 tents have been sent to Gaza, so that people can get food, medicines and shelters.
Dephrin also stated that Hamas recently fired on a UN team, tried to stop the relief route by stealing UN vehicles and looted 4 relief trucks of UNICEF, which could not provide Formula Milk to 2,700 children.
He said, “Hamas is using his own people, wants to lengthen this battle by making them shields, but this strategy will not be successful.”
The spokesperson said, “Our 48 hostages are still under Hamas. Until they return home, this war is incomplete. We are trying day and night to eliminate Hamas and secure their citizens.”
