Hyderabad: Passing out parade at Air Force Academy, Rajnath Singh will give 'President's Commission' to trainees

New Delhi, June 13 (). Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 217th course of the Air Force Academy (AFA) Dundigal in Hyderabad on Saturday. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that the event, held with military discipline, will celebrate the successful completion of pre-commissioning training of flight cadets of different branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Rajnath Singh will be the reviewing officer (RO) of this parade.

According to the ministry, during the ceremony Rajnath Singh will hand over ‘President’s Commission’ to the passing out trainees. In this ceremony, flight cadets of IAF and officers and trainees of Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and Vietnam will be awarded ‘Wings’ and ‘Brevets’ on completion of training.

It will also mark the commissioning of the first batch of women cadets from CGP National Defense Academy (NDA), Pune, who passed out on May 30, 2025 and joined the AFA for branch-specific training.

The Defense Minister will also present ‘President’s Plaque’ to the flight cadets who top the overall merit list in flying, navigation stream and ground duty branch.

The parade will include military drills and aerial displays. The program will begin with the performance by Akash Ganga Skydiving Team and Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT). In between, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. There will also be a fly past under the leadership of Singh.

The fly past will include four types of trainer aircraft – Pilatus PC-7 MKII, Hawk, Kiran and Chetak. Highlights of the ceremony will include aerobatics by Su-30 MKI, Sarang Helicopter Display Team and Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT).
