Gandhinagar. Six people have been reported dead while 26 passengers have been injured in a tragic road accident on the Vadodara-Halol highway in Gujarat early Wednesday. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has expressed grief over this accident. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel wrote in a post on social media platform X that the accident on Vadodara-Jarod road is very sad and heart-wrenching. I pray to the Most Merciful God to grant peace to the souls of those who lost their lives in this accident. My heartfelt condolences are with his family. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that this tragic road accident that occurred on Vadodara-Jarod road is extremely heartbreaking. I express my deepest condolences to the civilians who lost their lives in this horrific accident and express my sympathies to the bereaved families. May God grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to their families to bear this unbearable loss.
This accident happened at 4 am on Wednesday near Kotambi Stadium located near Kotambi village of Vadodara, when a luxury bus going from Rajasthan to Surat in Gujarat collided with a truck parked on the roadside.
According to the police, the bus was going to Surat with passengers from Banswara in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, he had a massive collision with a truck parked on the highway. It is being told that the truck driver had stopped on the roadside to check the tire pressure of the vehicle, when the speeding bus rammed into the truck from behind.
The collision was so severe that the front part of the bus was completely damaged and many passengers were trapped inside the bus. Immediately after the accident, nearby local people and passers-by reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. Emergency services were also informed.
As soon as information about the incident was received, teams of Vadodara Fire Brigade, Panigate Fire Station and Emergency Response Center reached the spot. The team of Jarrod Police Station also handled the relief work and traffic arrangements. Considering the seriousness of the accident, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team was also called.
During the rescue operation, the fire brigade separated the bus and truck with the help of JCB. At the same time, the rescue teams cut the twisted iron sheets of the bus and pulled out the passengers trapped inside.
According to officials, six people died on the spot in the accident while 26 injured passengers have been admitted to Vadodara Civil Hospital and nearby private hospitals. e
