A big good news is coming for the famous IAS officer Ravi Kumar Sihag and his wife IAS Ishita Rathi. In fact, after the major administrative reshuffle made in the AGMUT cadre by the Home Ministry on July 9, 2026, both have been posted in Jammu and Kashmir. That is why after marriage the distance of approximately 3271 kilometers between them has now ended. Now both will stay in the same state and handle their respective responsibilities.
Love story started while preparing for UPSC
Actually both Ravi and Ishita are successful candidates of UPSC 2021. While on one hand Ishita had secured All India 8th rank, on the other hand Ravi had secured 18th rank. The two met during trials at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. It was here that both of them became friends and this friendship gradually transformed into love. After that both of them had a love marriage on 16 December 2025.
Stay away due to different cadres
After marriage, both of them continued handling their respective responsibilities in different states. While on one hand Ravi was sent to Madhya Pradesh cadre, Ishita became an officer of AGMUT cadre. In February 2026, Ishita worked as the District Collector of Karaikal district of Puducherry. Ravi was working as a sub-divisional officer in the Revenue Department in Lakhnadaun of Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh. Due to which the distance between the two was approximately 3271 kilometers.
Changed cadre to stay with wife
After marriage, both the officers had applied for change of cadre. Due to which, on March 9, 2026, the Department of Personnel and Training accepted Ravi’s request and changed his cadre from Madhya Pradesh to AGMUT.
Both husband and wife got posting in Jammu and Kashmir without change.
But on July 9, 2026, the Home Ministry made a major administrative reshuffle of AGMUT cadre officers. Both Ravi and Ishita were employed in Jammu and Kashmir. That is why this will be the first time after marriage that both will serve in the same state.
Who are IAS Ravi and Ishita?
If we talk about Ravi Kumar Sihag, he is a resident of Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. He became an IAS officer of 2022 UPSC batch. Talking about his wife Ishita Rathi, she is a resident of Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. She has secured All India eighth rank in UPSC 2021.
