India is becoming a global hub of responsible AI innovation due to the overwhelming response from across the world: Center

New Delhi. The government on Sunday said the overwhelming participation from across the world at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 shows that India is becoming an emerging global hub of responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation. This initiative is inspired by the philosophy of ‘People, Planet and Progress’ i.e. people, environment and progress. The finalists for three major global impact challenges – AI for All, AI by Everyone and YouthAI – have been announced ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to be held in New Delhi from 16 to 20 February. According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, these challenges were launched to promote AI solutions that have a positive impact on society and are in line with global needs.
Together, these three competitions received over 4,650 applications from over 60 countries, reflecting the growing international interest. 70 teams have been selected as finalists after a rigorous multi-stage screening process.
These teams will present their solutions at the Grand Finale and Awards Ceremony to be held at Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi on 16th and 17th February.
The AI ​​for All Global Impact Challenge alone received over 1,350 applications from over 60 countries. The objective of this challenge was to create useful AI solutions on a large scale in areas such as health, agriculture, climate, governance, education and financial inclusion.
The 20 top teams selected under this have developed many useful technologies, such as AI-based infection detection tools, soil quality detection systems, climate risk analysis platforms, digital health checks, cyber security solutions, tools to enhance efficiency of industries and technologies to facilitate education.
The ministry said these innovations show how AI can promote equitable development and improve public services, especially in countries in the Global South.
The AI ​​by Her Global Impact Challenge received more than 800 applications from more than 50 countries, which aims to foster AI innovation led by women.
The 30 top women entrepreneurs selected are working on AI-based solutions in areas like health, sustainable development, financial inclusion, employment, agriculture, education and digital business.
These projects include solutions like AI for cancer and eye screening, multilingual medical decision support systems, voice-to-EMR platforms, nutrition technology, credit intelligence systems and ESG automation.
The government said the initiative reflects its commitment towards inclusive digital development and seeks to give women a leading role in the global AI ecosystem.
