New Delhi, May 6 (). India unveiled its deep-tech startup program ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ to global investors and stakeholders at a roadshow held in Paris.

India has taken this step ahead of the ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ conclave to be held in Nice, France next month, so as to increase awareness about this program among investors.

This roadshow showcased India’s deep-tech ecosystem and innovation-focused higher education to global investors, companies, universities and research institutes.

The event held in Paris was attended by over 50 participants from the French business and innovation ecosystem along with representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Indian Embassy in Paris and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Members of the French business and innovation ecosystem such as La French Tech, VivaTech, ESCP Business School, ESSEC, INRIA and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce, as well as key participants from venture capital, advisory, legal and startup networks attended the roadshow.

Additionally, the roadshow served as a platform to inform potential investors and partners about the scope, objectives and investment opportunities of Bharat Innovates 2026.

On this occasion, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education K.M. Prafulla Chandra Sharma highlighted the importance of this initiative in strengthening international cooperation under the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership.

Also, Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, made a presentation outlining the opportunities for French and global investors to connect with India’s fast-growing innovation ecosystem.

Additionally, the roadshow informed that India Innovates 2026 will focus on 13 leading technology sectors including advanced computing, semiconductors, next generation communications, advanced materials and critical minerals, biotechnology, space and defence, and manufacturing under Industry 4.0.

The first edition will see India’s top 120 deep-tech startups being taken to France to foster pilot projects, co-development, investment, research partnerships, manufacturing and market access.

The initiative was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of the President of France during the inauguration of the India-France Innovation Year on February 17.

Bharat Innovates 2026 will be organized from 14 to 16 June at the Palace des Expositions in Nice, France.
