Indian Air Force Vacancy 2026: Recruitment for 12th pass candidates, know age limit, selection process and salary

There is good news for the youth who want to join the Indian Air Force. If you have passed 12th and dream of serving the country, then you have a great opportunity to join the Air Force. Indian Air Force has released the recruitment notification for Group Y Non-Technical Medical Assistant trade. The online application process has started and candidates can apply within the stipulated time limit. Before applying, candidates should check the eligibility criteria, age limit, selection process and other important information carefully.

Indian Air Force has started the recruitment process for Group Y Non-Technical Medical Assistant Intake 02/2027. Candidates can apply online from 6th July 2026; The last date to apply is 26 July 2026. Applications for this recruitment can be submitted only through the official website of Indian Air Force iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in. Air Force has not announced the total number of vacancies for this recruitment drive.

Candidates applying for this post must have passed 12th class from a recognized board. They must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. Apart from this, there should be at least 50% marks in English also. Candidates who have completed two years professional course in these subjects are also eligible to apply provided they have 50% marks.

For Medical Assistant trade, candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and English. They should have Diploma in Pharmacy, B.Pharma or B.Sc. Degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. Additionally, it is mandatory to have valid registration with the Pharmacy Council of India or any State Pharmacy Council. Candidates who have passed 12th class, their date of birth should be between 1st July 2006 and 1st July 2010. Whereas, Diploma, B.Pharma or B.Sc. Candidates having degree should have their date of birth between 1st July 2006 and 1st July 2010. (Pharmacy) degree candidates’ date of birth should be between 1st July 2003 and 1st July 2006.

Selection for Indian Air Force will take place in several stages. First, there will be a written test consisting of questions related to English, Reasoning and General Awareness (RAGA). For every correct answer, one mark will be awarded, while for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted (negative marking). Candidates who qualify the written examination will have to appear for Physical Fitness Test (PFT). This test includes a 1.6 km run, 10 push-ups in one minute, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats in one minute. Candidates up to 21 years of age will get 7 minutes to complete the race, while candidates above 21 years of age will get 7 minutes 30 seconds. After successfully completing these steps, candidates will undergo a medical test, which will include blood, urine and biochemistry tests along with other necessary health checkups.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹14,600 during the training. After completion of training, they will get a monthly salary of ₹26,900 along with Military Service Pay (MSP) and other fixed allowances. Candidates of all categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹ 550, which can be paid online.
