Ranchi, January 14 (). Jharkhand Police has safely recovered four and five year old innocent brother and sister Ansh and Anshika, who were kidnapped from Dhurva police station area of Ranchi, after 12 days. Both the children have been recovered from Chitarpur area of Ramgarh district.
In this case, the police took immediate action and arrested two accused. The entire city was agitated after the children went missing. On January 2, both the children had left from Mausibadi Khatal in Dhurwa at around 3 pm to buy goods from a grocery shop located near the house, but did not return. Despite searching for a long time, when no trace of them was found, the family lodged a missing complaint at Dhurva police station the next day, on January 3.
After this, Ranchi Police started a massive search operation. Considering the seriousness of the case, a 40-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed on the instructions of SSP Rakesh Ranjan. Acting at both technical and human intelligence levels, the police investigated more than 5,000 mobile numbers, while footage from about 2,000 CCTV cameras installed in the city and surrounding areas was scrutinized.
Along with this, a poster campaign was run with the help of voluntary organizations and a reward of Rs 4 lakh was announced for those providing information about the children. There was outrage in the city due to the children going missing for a long time. Various political parties and social organizations held continuous demonstrations. Dhurva Subtown was also kept closed on Sunday. Taking cognizance of the matter, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had summoned a report from the DGP of Jharkhand.
Amidst constant pressure and intensive investigation, the police got important clues, on the basis of which the team reached Chitarpur in Ramgarh and recovered both the children safely. Information has been received that the children were abducted by the nomadic Gulgulia gang. According to the police, the health of the children is fine and the process of handing them over to their family members is being completed. Interrogation of the arrested accused is going on and the reasons and network behind the kidnapping are being investigated in depth. Jharkhand DGP Tadasha Mishra herself will hold a press conference at 12.30 pm and give detailed information on the entire matter.
