Police shot and killed a 30 -year -old man from a weak tribal group (PVGT) in Jharkhand’s Godda district to arrest an accused in a case of forced recovery. Police fired during the search operation. In which a person died after being shot. Now the demand for action against the accused policemen in this case is gaining momentum.
The family of the tribal person alleged that his relative died due to police firing. The family has demanded strict action against the policemen who shot at them. As the matter progressed, Godda Superintendent of Police (SP) Nathu Singh Meena said that a special team has been deployed in the case.
The SP said that an investigation team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) to investigate the incident and take necessary legal action. SP Nathu Singh Meena said that the deceased has been identified as Hari Narayan Pahadia. He is a resident of Bada Danga Para, about 350 km from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand.
According to a police statement, a police team raided the house of Benadik Hembram at Bada Danga Para on Wednesday evening after registering an FIR related to forcible recovery at Sundar Hill Police Station on 16 April. During the raid, the police saw a man running away from home.
According to the police, then Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Rajnath Yadav asked him to stop. But he tried to run away. The statement said that during the process of arresting him, a firing incident took place and a person named Hari Narayan was shot in the left shoulder. In an injured state, he was brought to the Community Health Center, Sundar Hill, where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, Kamdev Pahadia (24), the elder brother of the deceased Hari Narayan, denied the police allegations that his brother was running away from home. Cupid, while giving information to PTI-language, said that the incident took place on the banks of the river where his brother went for defecation. His brother was deliberately shot, but the reason has not been known.
Cupid said that he would file an FIR against the police personnel who fired on his brother. He said that his brother was a farmer. They have two daughters and a son. He was the only earner in the family. Now who will take care of his wife and children? Cupid has demanded that all the policemen involved in the team be suspended immediately and strict action should be taken against them.
