Srinagar, May 14 () Political rhetoric has intensified regarding the delay in payment of contractors working under Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir. Iltija Mufti cornered the government on this issue and alleged that payments have been stuck for a long time due to which contractors are facing financial crisis. He has also accused the government of negligence and corruption.
They have alleged that despite taking loans from the bank, they have not been paid for two years and have urged the government to resolve their grievances.
On the other hand, the contractors’ protest continued for the fifth day.
Talking to the media, he said that the contractors working for Jal Jeevan Mission have not received payment. The government has been in place for two years and their payment is pending. These people are troubled because of debt. Jammu and Kashmir government says that we will sign an agreement, after which the dues will be paid.
She also said that she wants to ask the government that these people have been protesting for five days, but no hearing is taking place. No one from the government even came to meet. We have not come here to do politics, but they are not being heard. Had asked for help from these people.
Iltija Mufti said that if any scam has taken place then investigate it. They worked and now they are facing problems. The investigation is not being done. The government belongs to them so their payment should be completed.
He targeted Omar Abdullah’s government and said that his government has failed. The situation in the education sector is also bad. Corruption is being done. But, the government does not have the funds to pay. Their government has failed on every front.
He also asked why the government is not listening to them. The government has gone into a coma. The government is not able to function properly. Corruption is taking place in the entire government from top to bottom.
