Jammu and Kashmir: Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, starting from 14 September, adjourned till further orders

Srinagar, 13 September (). An important information has come out for the devotees going to see Mata Vaishno Devi. Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, through its official ‘X’ handle, has informed that the journey starting from September 14 has been postponed till further orders due to continuous rains.

The Shrine Board has taken this decision keeping in mind the safety of passengers on the building and travel route. Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, the board wrote, “Jai Mata Di. Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, which starts on 14 September (Sunday) due to continuous rains on the building and travel route, has been postponed till further orders. The devotees are requested to wait for the next official order.”

Let us know that Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board had informed about the resumption of Vaishno Devi Yatra from September 14 through its official ‘X’ handle on 12 September.

The Shrine Board wrote, “Jai Mata Di. Vaishno Devi Yatra will resume from 14 September (Sunday), provided the weather remains favorable. For details/booking, please go to” Maa Vaishnodevidotoerji “.”

Explain that more than 35 pilgrims lost their lives and more than 10 people were injured due to landslides on Mata Vaishno Devi temple route during extremely bad weather on 26 August in Jammu division. Due to this, Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra was postponed. After the landslide in Katra recently, the administration issued an order to vacate the hotels and Dharamshalas.

After the landslide tragedy, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was criticized, even Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary convicted SMVDSB officials managing the cases of travel.

Three days later, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, ordered the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the landslide incident near Ardhkunwari on Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir Marg.
