Kartik month has special significance in Hindu religion. It is believed that in this month Lord Vishnu wakes up from Yoga Nidra. According to the scriptures, everyone should do ten essential tasks in the month of Kartik. By doing these tasks one gets special blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. The month from 3 October to 5 November is called Kartik.
In the month of Kartik, Damodar Ashtakam should be recited after waking up in Brahmamuhurta and taking bath. Additionally, the names of Lord Vishnu should be chanted and Tulsi should be circumambulated four times.
Worship of Tulsi has special significance in the month of Kartik. Lord Vishnu loves Tulsi very much, hence in this month one should donate lamp to Tulsi and serve him.
In the month of Kartik, a lamp should be donated to Lord Vishnu and Tulsi Aarti should be performed. Apart from this, one should visit the temple daily and have darshan of God.
Vaishnav scriptures should also be read and heard in the month of Kartik.
If you get a chance in the month of Kartik, then definitely visit Thakurji in Vrindavan Dham. Apart from this, do Kirtan for at least half an hour every day.
By meditating silently in the month of Kartik, one attains divine blessings. Lord Hari also loves animals. Therefore, in the month of Kartik, one should serve the animals by feeding them bread.
