New Delhi. The festival of Karva Chauth was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm across the country. On this occasion, many prominent politicians and their families celebrated the festival with traditional customs and extended good wishes to the countrymen. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performed Karva Chauth rituals at her residence and broke her fast after seeing the moon. She said, “I extend my warm wishes to all the sisters of the country on the occasion of Karva Chauth. I urge every woman to take care of her family, country and most importantly, herself. This beautiful cultural festival is celebrated with joy and happiness across the country. This fast holds deep significance for a woman.” Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with his wife Geeta Dhami observed the fast of Karva Chauth as per the rituals at the Chief Minister’s residence in Dehradun. The couple worshiped Lord Shiva-Parvati and prayed for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the people of the state. Geeta Dhami ended the fast by offering Arghya to the moon at night. Chief Minister Dhami said, “Karva Chauth is a symbol of the unwavering faith, love, sacrifice and dedication of Indian women. This festival keeps our cultural traditions alive.”
Similarly, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak celebrated Karva Chauth with wife Namrata Pathak at his Lucknow residence. Namrata Pathak kept a fast for the long life of her husband. Brajesh Pathak said, “On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartiest greetings to all the women of the state.”
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan celebrated the festival of Karva Chauth with his family in Bhopal. His wife Sadhna Singh Chauhan completed the fast by offering Arghya to the moon. During this time, the wives of his two sons, Amanat Chauhan and Riddhi Chauhan also observed a fast. This was the first time that the Chauhan family celebrated Karva Chauth together after the marriage of both the sons. The entire family organized puja and katha together.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari also performed Karva Chauth rituals with his wife Surbhi Tiwari in Delhi. Ending the fast after Chandra Darshan, Manoj Tiwari said, “This festival deepens the feeling of love and duty between husband and wife. I am fortunate that my wife kept this fast for me.”
Surabhi Tiwari congratulated the women who follow Sanatan culture in the country and abroad. This festival of Karva Chauth created an atmosphere of joy not only in the families of politicians but also in the entire country. This festival highlights the rich traditions of Indian culture, which gives the message of love and unity.
