These days, Black Thar is the special target of the police in the capital Jaipur. Whatever black Thar is seen on the road, the police is stopping it. On the instructions of Jaipur Police Commissioner, Jaipur South Police has started a special drive against black Thar, black Scorpio, vehicles with black glass, bikes with modified silencers and power bikes.
A total of 141 vehicles were seized in the last two days, including 100 Thar and Scorpio with black glass and other violations and 41 power bikes/modified bikes. The seized vehicles were taken to Narayan Vihar, where police issued challans and removed the black stickers. Due to increasing road accidents in the state, the police had also launched a road safety campaign last month. Due to this drive, a large number of vehicles were seized and challans were issued.
According to the information received from the Police Headquarters, under the Road Safety Campaign from November 4 to 15, the Police Department has arrested 7971 drivers for drunk driving, 55 thousand 717 drivers for careless driving, 39 thousand 940 drivers for driving in the wrong direction, 3505 drivers for dangerous driving, 11 thousand 387 drivers for driving without reflectors and without number plates. Action was taken against 20 thousand 419 drivers. During this period, 5 lakh 43 thousand 518 citizens were made aware about traffic rules and safe driving.
