Khandwa, 3 October (). State President of Madhya Pradesh Congress Jeetu Patwari reached Jamli village in Khandwa district on Friday, where he met the families of 11 people who lost their lives in a road accident.
He tied the victim families and assured all possible cooperation. Jeetu Patwari demanded strict action, holding the administration and government’s negligence responsible for the incident.
Patwari said in a conversation with the media, “For years, the villagers were demanding repair of the bad road, but the administration and the government ignored. Negligence and chaos in road construction became the cause of tragic accident.”
Questioning the functioning of the administration, he said, “The road is now being built after the lives of 11 people, it reflects the insensitivity of the government and the system.”
The state Congress president demanded that the families of the deceased be provided financial assistance of one crore rupees and strict action should be taken against the culprits, so that such incidents should not be repeated in future.
He said, “In this hour of grief, the Congress party is standing with the families of the victims. We will support them at every step.” He appealed to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav that the families of the deceased should be given a relief amount of one crore rupees immediately.
Let us know that on Thursday, a tractor-trolley Durga statue in Pandhana area of Khandwa district was going towards Ardla Dam for immersion, in which 30 to 35 villagers were riding. A sudden accident occurred, resulting in 11 people died.
The dead include Chanda (8), Ayush (9), Revising (13), Dinesh (13), Urmila (15), Sharmila (15), Kiran (16), Sangeeta (16), Aarti (18), Ganesh (20) and Patalibai (25).
