A video is going viral on social media, in which a man is seen asking people a simple but profound question: “What do you think should be the monthly salary to run a household?” This question may seem simple, but it has sparked a huge debate online.
SSC CGL preparation changed my perspective
In the video, the man tells that when he started preparing for SSC CGL, his dream was to get the job of Inspector. But, as time passed, the papers became more difficult, and his thinking changed. The grade pay of 2400 and then 2800 seemed fine. Finally, he got a government job with a grade pay of Rs 2800. After getting the job, he started enjoying his life. But, when he talked to his friends working in the corporate sector, they told him that his salary was low and would not be enough for him in the future.
Difference between government and corporate thinking
Then the man talked to people doing government jobs. His perspective was completely different. Low grade and low salary employees were also living happy lives. He believed that “a man should spread his legs as far as the bedsheet will allow.” However, the corporate sector had a different thinking, where it taught us to spread our legs because our legs will always be long. The man says he now knows how much he needs, but he wants to know how much, in his opinion, the family should earn every month.
