Lokendra of Dausa selected in the Indian handball team: Will show his strength in the Asian Championship in Uzbekistan, celebratory atmosphere in Bishanpura village.

Dausa. The sports talents of Rajasthan are now ready to hoist the tricolor on international grounds across the borders. Lokendra Singh Rathore, resident of Bishanpura (Shyampura) of Dausa district, has been selected in the Indian men’s handball team. Lokendra will now represent India in the Asian Handball Men’s Championship to be held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Lokendra’s father Dashrath Singh Rathod said that this is a proud moment for the entire family and the district. Lokendra left from Delhi along with other players of the Indian team on Sunday and reached Tashkent on Monday. Before departure, the family members sweetened Lokendra’s face with Vijay Tilak and wished the Indian team for victory. This competition will run till 5 April 2026, in which the best teams of Asia are participating. Coming from a small village like Bishanpura and wearing the jersey of the Indian team is the result of Lokendra’s years of hard work and dedication. Lokendra’s selection in a fast-paced sport like handball confirms his physical fitness and technical skills.
This achievement of Lokendra Rathore proves that there is no dearth of talent in the rural areas of Rajasthan. Dausa district, which till now was mainly known for education (competitive examinations), is now making its mark on the global map of sports as well.
From a critical point of view, many districts of Rajasthan still lack international level ‘indoor courts’ and modern training facilities for sports like handball. Lokendra’s success is a story of overcoming many obstacles, which has been written only on the strength of passion despite lack of resources.
:The international selection of players like Lokendra is an indication to the state government and the sports department that if sports are promoted at the block and district level and modern infrastructure is developed, dozens of ‘Lokendras’ can emerge from Rajasthan and bring medals in the Olympics and Asian Games.
