Mumbai, February 23 (). The budget session of Maharashtra Legislature is going to start from 23 February 2026. On the eve of the session, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made important announcements in the press conference. He said that the budget will provide relief to the public and at the same time financial discipline will also be maintained. Tough decisions will also be taken if necessary.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had made extensive preparations for the budget. Ajit Pawar was in favor of economic discipline and had presented budgets 11 times. Now all their expected suggestions and issues will be included in this budget. Fadnavis himself will present the budget on March 6. 15 bills will be introduced in this session.

He said that Maharashtra has received a lot of help from the Centre. The state will get Rs 98,306 crore from tax distribution in the Central budget, which is more than before. Rs 23,000 crore has been received from two high-speed corridors and railways. In VB Ji Ram-Ji Yojana, man-days were increased from 1,300 lakh to 1,600 lakh, which will provide additional Rs 1,400 crore.

The CM further said that detailed information will be given in the Assembly on the investment agreements worth Rs 30 lakh crore signed in Davos and misconceptions will be cleared. Maharashtra played an active role in ‘India AI Summit’. ‘AI for Agriculture’ international conference was organized, which was considered as the country’s first Agri AI Summit. Ajit Pawar had made a provision of Rs 500 crore for the AI ​​mission. 30 lakh farmers are benefiting from the ‘Mahavistaar’ app, which now also includes Bhilli language. AI can reduce agricultural production costs by 25-40 percent.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the Davos agreements will create 40-50 lakh jobs. Infrastructure projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore are underway. MMRDA’s budget of Rs 46,000 crore approved. BKC-Kurla Tunnel, Borivali-Thane Tunnel etc. will reduce traffic jam in Mumbai. In the MMRDA accident, officials were suspended, fined and Rs 15 lakh given to the families of the deceased. 125 projects in irrigation got approval worth Rs 90,000 crore. Water arrangements are being made for Marathwada and Vidarbha. Rs 32,000 crore package for farmers and increased NDRF norms.

Apart from this, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar said emotionally that Ajit Pawar struck a balance between development and discipline. This budget will give impetus to all-round development and all sections will get justice.
