Maharashtra: Car fell into 800 feet deep gorge in Nashik, 6 people died, PM Modi expressed grief

Nashik. Six people of the same family have died tragically in an accident in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The accident occurred on Sunday when a car fell into an 800 feet deep gorge on the road leading to the famous temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over this accident. According to the information, the car was going towards Saptashrungi Mata temple when the driver lost control while trying to overtake near Bhawari waterfall. Bhawari Falls is known for its sharp turns and narrow road. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the deaths in the accident.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also expressed grief over this accident. He wrote on social media platform ‘X’ that the incident of death of 6 devotees in an accident due to falling of a vehicle in Saptashrungi Garh of Nashik district is extremely sad. I pay my heartfelt tribute to him. We share in the grief of their families. Rescue work is going on to remove the dead bodies and complete machinery has been kept ready there. The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the heirs of these devotees.
According to officials, the vehicle involved in the accident slipped from the bank and fell into a deep valley below, killing all the occupants on the spot.
Police said all the victims belonged to the Patel family and were traveling together to visit the temple.
The victims have been identified as Kirti Patel (50), Rasila Patel (50), Vitthal Patel (65), Lata Patel (60), Pachan Patel (60) and Maniben Patel (60). Police officials confirmed that all of them were close relatives of each other.
