Counting of votes is still going on for 293 seats of Bengal. Re-voting for a particular seat, Phalata, is to be held on May 21. BJP has already won 106 seats and is leading in 100 more seats. At the same time, TMC has claimed victory on 44 seats and is currently leading on 37 other seats. Congress party has been able to win only two seats.

Mamta came out of Bhawanipur counting centre; Declared: “This is not an election, it is theft”
Mamta Banerjee came out of the counting center in Bhawanipur. He asserted, “The BJP has stolen more than 100 seats. The Election Commission has actually become the BJP’s commission. I even complained to Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer, Manoj Aggarwal, but he is not doing anything. Do you consider this a victory? This is an immoral victory. Whatever the Election Commission has done in collusion with the central forces, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister—it is completely illegal. It is a theft—a theft, a theft!” He further said, “We will bounce back.”

Modi declared: “Lotus is blooming everywhere—from Gangotri to Gangasagar.”
PM Modi said, “Last year, on November 14—when the results of Bihar elections were declared—I was standing right here at the BJP headquarters and I had said that the Ganga flows from Bihar to Gangasagar. Today, with our victory in Bengal, the lotus is blooming everywhere—from Gangotri to Gangasagar.”
