Moga, October 21 (). In a major action during the festive season, Moga Police of Punjab has exposed a fake ghee manufacturing factory running in the residential area of Bagha Purana. This factory was preparing fake ghee and selling it in the market in the name of well-known companies Sifti and Rudra brands.
According to the information, during the raid led by PCR incharge Khem Chand Parashar, the police recovered about 200 kg of fake ghee and branded packing boxes from the spot. Police called the Food Safety Officer to the spot, seized all the goods and prepared fake ghee and started the sampling process. Four people have been detained from the spot, all of whom are said to be residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had started this business after watching videos on social media. They used to prepare fake ghee by mixing refined oil, dalda and chemicals and sold it in the market at high prices in the name of genuine brand.
According to the information, the landlord has a grocery shop in Bagha Purana. It is being told that earlier also a huge quantity of fake desi ghee had been recovered from his shop. It is alleged that he used to make fake desi ghee and sell it in the market under the guise of a grocery shop.
Meanwhile, District Food Safety Officer Luvdeep Singh said that on the basis of secret information, Moga Police got information about people making fake desi ghee in a house. On receiving the information, the police took action and all the items were seized from the spot. The department team has collected all the samples and sent them to the lab for testing. After the report comes, strict legal action will be taken by the health department and police.
PCR incharge Khem Chand Parashar said that Moga police had received information about making of fake desi ghee in Bagha Purana. After this, the police raided and recovered a huge quantity of fake desi ghee and other items of two brands from the spot. Four youths, who are residents of Uttar Pradesh, were caught from the spot. The Health Department has started investigation and whatever necessary legal action will be taken.
