The enthusiasm of the devotees in the holy Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand is continuously increasing. Especially the number of devotees arriving for darshan at Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham is creating new records. According to the District Emergency Operation Center, the total number of devotees who visited both the Dhams till Saturday evening has reached 10 lakh 55 thousand 114. On Saturday alone, 19,287 devotees visited both the Dhams. Of these, 8,785 devotees reached Yamunotri Dham and 10,502 devotees reached Gangotri Dham.
Since the beginning of the Yatra, till now 5 lakh 16 thousand 206 devotees have visited Yamunotri Dham, whereas in Gangotri Dham this figure has reached 5 lakh 38 thousand 908. With the increasing number of devotees, the movement of vehicles is also continuing. A total of 1,982 vehicles operated for both the Dhams on Saturday. At the same time, since the beginning of the Yatra, till now 1 lakh 3 thousand 215 vehicles have reached the Dhams.
In view of the difficult climb to Yamunotri Dham, devotees are also using traditional facilities like horse-mule, stick and kandi. On Saturday, 1,705 passengers availed these services. The total number of devotees who have used these facilities since the beginning of the Yatra has reached 92 thousand 257. The administration is also completely alert regarding the health of the passengers.
Continuous screening and testing is being done by the health department. Health screening of 5,642 passengers was done on Saturday, while 564 passengers were quarantined. Since the beginning of the Yatra, health screening of 3 lakh 24 thousand 987 devotees and health examination of 27, 529 pilgrims has been done so far.
The district administration said that the Chardham Yatra is being conducted completely smoothly. All necessary arrangements have been ensured keeping in mind the safety, health and convenience of the devotees. –
