Municipal Corporation's strong attack on filth and single use plastic, raid on warehouse; fine of one lakh

Jaipur. Municipal Corporation Jaipur is running a strict campaign against littering and use of single use plastic with the aim of making the city clean and plastic free. In this sequence, on the instructions of Corporation Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini, a major action was taken by the Health Branch under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Praveen Kumar on Thursday. Under the campaign, investigation action was taken at a warehouse located in Bas Badanpura area. During the inspection, heavy dirt, absence of dustbin and use of single use plastic were found in the warehouse premises. Taking strict action against warehouse owner Rahul Sharma, resident of Punjabi Colony, for violation of rules, the Municipal Corporation imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Additional Commissioner Praveen Kumar said that the warehouse operator was also given an oath to keep the warehouse clean and not to use plastic. Along with this, during another action, single use plastic being carried illegally in an e-rickshaw was also seized. The corporation team seized about 120 kg of single use plastic from the spot and fine was also imposed against the concerned person as per rules.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Saini clarified that spreading filth, not keeping dustbins and use of single use plastic will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Municipal Corporation Jaipur has appealed to the general public and businessmen to follow cleanliness rules, use dustbin compulsorily and stop using single-use plastic completely. Similar strict action will continue against those who ignore the rules.
