Know about Samrat Chaudhary…
Samrat Chaudhary, born on November 16, 1968, is married to Mamta Kumari. His father’s name is Shakuni Chaudhary, while his mother’s name is Parvati Devi. Samrat Chaudhary has a son and a daughter. His father, Shakuni Chaudhary, is considered a prominent socialist leader. Shakuni Chaudhary was once a close confidant of Lalu Prasad Yadav. However, with time, Shakuni Chaudhary chose a new path in his political journey and associated with Nitish Kumar.
Samrat Chaudhary inherited his political career. His father, Shakuni Chaudhary, is counted among the prominent political figures of the state. Samrat Chaudhary started his political journey under the guidance and patronage of his father. The irony is that Samrat Chaudhary—who opposes RJD, Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav—had actually learned the ABCs of politics in the same political school of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He started his political journey from RJD itself.
24th Chief Minister of the state
Samrat is set to take oath as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar. In his journey from minister to chief minister, Samrat Chaudhary has broken many myths. He is only the second leader in the history of Bihar who first served as Deputy Chief Minister and later rose to the post of Chief Minister.
Till now, Karpoori Thakur was the only leader in Bihar who had served as Deputy Chief Minister before becoming the Chief Minister. Apart from Sushil Kumar Modi, Tarkishore Prasad, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Tejashwi Yadav, even Anugrah Narayan Singh—who was the first Deputy Chief Minister of the state—could not break this record. Similarly, Renu Devi, who became the first woman Deputy Chief Minister of the state, also did not become the Chief Minister later. Samrat Chaudhary has now registered his name in the list in which till now there was only one name: Karpoori Thakur.
From RJD and JD(U) to BJP
Samrat Chaudhary started his political career with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). However, he later joined Janata Dal (United). [JD(U)] got included in. In 2014, when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar decided to step down and appoint Jitan Ram Manjhi as Chief Minister in his place, Samrat Chaudhary served as a minister in Jitan Ram Manjhi’s government. After leaving Janata Dal (United), he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
