New Delhi . An important agreement has been signed between the Indian Army and Delhi-based Netaji Subhash University of Technology. The objective of this collaboration between the Army and the University is to develop software and Artificial Intelligence based solutions for the Army. With this, the country’s defense preparedness will be further strengthened through indigenous technology. According to this, students and faculty of the university will be able to be a part of live solutions to the technical problems of the army. There will be direct participation of students and faculty in various technical solutions of the Army. Students and teachers will participate in projects based on real level problems of the Indian Army. This will give them experience in working on cutting-edge technical challenges. The university teams will develop solutions tailored to the needs of the Indian Army, which will include artificial intelligence, software tools, data analytics and tech related projects. The University will organize faculty development programs and specially designed training programmes.
Through this, indigenous defense innovation will be promoted. Also, this partnership will accelerate indigenous technology, innovation and research in the defense sector under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. According to defense experts, this cooperation is a big step towards increasing the technical capabilities of the Indian Army. In this, the youth will get an opportunity to understand the real needs of the defense sector and contribute towards innovation. Also, the Indian Army will receive state-of-the-art and indigenously developed technological solutions.
It is noteworthy that last week, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi had participated in an important conclave. The conclave focused on the theme of transforming emerging global dynamics into strategic opportunities for India. During this, General Dwivedi had said that the role of academic institutions is very important in shaping the national discourse and strategic thinking.
Especially at a time when the global geopolitical and technological environment is changing rapidly. In his address, the Army Chief had called upon the faculty members to achieve excellence in research and innovation. He stressed on keeping it in line with the goals of India’s national vision ‘Developed India 2047’. On this occasion, the Army Chief, while addressing the teachers and students, had said that only strong and fact-based research strengthens policy-making. Enables India to convert emerging global challenges into opportunities.
