Patna. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has strongly condemned the incident of an RSS worker making a Dalit elderly person lick urine in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Gehlot said that it has now become known how much hatred BJP and RSS have towards Dalits. The incident of an RSS worker making a Dalit elderly person lick urine in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is shameful and highly condemnable. BJP-RSS only want to collect votes from Dalits, they do not want to provide them a safe environment. Gehlot said that on one hand RSS acts as a protector of Hindu society, Hindutva and Sanatan Dharma and on the other hand it acts as a predator. At many places their workers behave like this with Dalits, backward classes and tribals. If they really follow the spirit of Hindu religion then the top agenda of RSS across the country should be how to end caste discrimination and untouchability and end inferiority complex.
On the continuous atrocities on Dalits under the BJP rule, Shri Gehlot said that whether it is a Dalit Chief Justice or a common Dalit elder, no one is safe under the BJP rule. BJP ruled states are at the forefront in atrocities against Dalits.
It is noteworthy that according to the NCRB report, the highest number of cases of atrocities against Dalits have been registered in BJP ruled Uttar Pradesh. In the year 2023, 15,130 cases of crimes against Dalits were registered in Uttar Pradesh. Just a few days ago, Shri Hariom Valmiki was murdered in a heinous manner in Rae Bareli. In BJP ruled Haryana, an ADG level Dalit IPS officer had committed suicide alleging caste discrimination.
