On Ram Mandir issue, SP MP Awadhesh Prasad demanded action against people associated with the trust.

Lucknow, July 6 (). Samajwadi Party’s Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad targeted the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments over the theft of offerings in the Ram temple. He said that this is not just a matter of any temple or state, but a national issue related to the faith of crores of devotees. He demanded a fair investigation into the entire episode and action against people associated with the trust.

Speaking to amid the important meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to be held on July 6 in Ayodhya and the police investigation in the matter, Awadhesh Prasad said that Ram temple is the center of faith of crores of devotees in the country and abroad. Every day lakhs of devotees offer gold, silver and other valuable items here as per their devotion.

He said, “This is the center of faith of crores of people of the country. Devotees from many countries of the world also come here and pay their respects at the feet of Lord Shri Ram. If there is any disturbance in the offerings at such a holy place, then it is a very serious matter.”

The SP MP claimed that the matter was first raised publicly by the party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav. He alleged that the government is only trying to whitewash the entire matter.

He said, “This is not just theft of offerings, but a serious matter related to the donations received during the construction of the temple. At that time people had offered gold, silver, land, jewelery and other valuables with devotion. In such a situation, the truth of this entire matter should come out.”

Awadhesh Prasad said that this matter is not limited to any one state, but is related to the entire country. He demanded an independent investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court and said that a high-level committee should be formed to ensure an impartial investigation.

He said, “We want a Supreme Court monitored investigation into this entire matter. Until the investigation is completed, the concerned people associated with the trust should be suspended so that the investigation can be conducted impartially.”

The SP MP claimed that today this matter is being discussed in the entire country. He said that questions are being raised among the public regarding irregularities related to gold, cash, land and other offerings and these should be answered.

Referring to Goswami Tulsidas’ Chaupai, he said, “Whenever there is a loss of religion, it becomes necessary to adopt the path of justice. This is not the theft of a person’s house, but a matter related to the court of Lord Shri Ram and the faith of crores of devotees. Therefore, a special and impartial investigation should be done and strict action should be taken against the culprits.”
