Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that the elderly are our respectable people and their safety and respect is the top priority of our government. The Chief Minister was speaking in connection with a question regarding cutting of pension during the budget session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. He clarified that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear in his resolution letter that if elderly people above 70 years of age suffer from any disease, then their families do not need to worry about treatment. While making arrangements for his treatment, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Haryana Government have ensured an amount of up to Rs 5 lakh. Attacking the opposition regarding pension, he said that the opposition is spreading rumors regarding the closure of pension. They are committing a sin by spreading rumors that the pension of the elderly has been cut. He said that spreading such confusion among the elderly is completely wrong. The Chief Minister said that the state government has not cut the pension, but has worked to increase their respect by increasing it. Today, elderly people in the state get information through SMS on their mobile that their pension has been deposited in their bank account. They can easily withdraw the amount from the bank.
Comparing the time of the Congress government, the Chief Minister said that earlier the elderly did not get pension for many months. He had to make rounds of offices. There were problems due to heat and distance, and there was no one to take care of them.
He said that if any complaint comes regarding pension, it is the responsibility of the government to verify it. The pension is put on hold during the verification process, but the amount is released once the verification is completed. The Chief Minister said that the present government has made a transparent, respectful and convenient system for the elderly.
