Thiruvananthapuram, 26 September (). The Congress party on Thursday made a major change in the Wayanad District Congress Committee (DCC) and announced new appointments at the organizational level. The press release issued said that the Congress President has approved the proposal to appoint Advocate TJ Isak as the chairman of the Wayanad District Congress Committee with immediate effect.
At the same time, the Congress President has appointed ND Appachan as a co-maintained member of AICC from Kerala. The press release issued by the Congress’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal said that the Congress President has nominated ND Appachan as a co-managed member of AICC and this appointment will be applicable with immediate effect.
According to sources, there was an atmosphere of dissatisfaction in the organization due to internal factionalism and leadership struggle in the Wayanad Congress unit. Due to this, ND Appad decided to resign from his post. However, Appachan itself confirmed in a conversation with the media, saying that he has informed the party about its resignation and now it is up to the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) whether it accepts it or not.
However, Appachan has not been separated from the organization. The Congress leadership has given him new responsibility respectfully by making him a co-managed member in AICC. It is being seen as a balanced step within the party so that an imbalance in the organization does not arise.
The newly appointed Wayanad DCC President Advocate TJ ISAC is known as an active and ground leader of the party. The party hopes that they will fill new energy in the organization and will work to bring the policies of the party to every corner of Wayanad.
