For your information, let us tell you that the Regional Passport Office is organizing a ‘Passport Lok Adalat’ (people’s court) to clear the pending passport related files. Its main objective is to provide relief to those applicants whose passport applications are stuck due to various reasons and who have not been able to get any timely solution.
When will Passport Lok Adalat be held?
This special Lok Adalat will be held in Ghaziabad on April 23 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It will be held in room number 320 of the Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad. During this time, Regional Passport Officers will be present to directly interact with the applicants, listen to their complaints and try to ensure on-the-spot resolution.
Relief from problems in passport services
According to officials, the Passport Lok Adalat is being organized as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of External Affairs. With this initiative, common citizens will be able to get quick relief from the problems they are facing related to passport services. Through this Lok Adalat, priority will be given especially to those cases which are pending for a long time or which are getting delayed due to technical or documentation related problems.
Get in early to take advantage
In view of the paucity of time, only 50 applicants’ files will be processed during this Lok Adalat. Therefore, applicants are advised to reach early to avail this facility. Applicants have also been instructed to bring original copies and photocopies of all their required documents so that the process can proceed without any hindrance.
This initiative promises to be very beneficial for those who have been waiting for a long time for resolution of their passport related issues. This effort of the Regional Passport Office will not only strengthen the communication between the administration and the citizens, but will also increase transparency and efficiency in public services.
