Pathan Majra case: AAP MLA Harmeet Singh declared fugitive, order to give property details

Patiala. The troubles of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra from Sanaur, Punjab are increasing. Patiala local court on Saturday took strict action against Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and declared him a fugitive. The court has taken this decision due to his continuous non-appearance in the rape case registered against him. The court has also ordered the police and related departments to present the details of the movable and immovable properties of the MLA. During the hearing in the court, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Harmeet Singh, resident of village Pathanmajra, district Patiala, has been declared a fugitive (proclaimed person). The court has ordered the police administration to present all the information related to the property of the accused before the court. The court was told that the proclamation warrant issued against accused Harmeet Singh had been served and received back on October 15, 2025. In this regard, the statement of SI Gurmeet Singh on duty has already been recorded. The court said that even though the prescribed period of 30 days had been completed, the accused did not appear before the court, due to which he was declared a fugitive.
The court also made it clear in its order that separate action is being initiated against accused Harmeet Singh under Section 85 of BNSS. Instructions have been given to register this action as Criminal Miscellaneous in the CIS system. Besides, a notice has been issued to the investigating officer and the date of next hearing has been fixed as 31 January 2026.
The court has ordered that the complete list of the assets of the accused be placed on record on the next date. It is noteworthy that Harmeet Singh faces serious allegations of having disproportionate assets and fraud. The court has also given instructions to send a copy of the order to the concerned police station and ensure necessary action. The next hearing of the case will be on January 31. –
